SIR JOHN FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL
Yellowknife, NT
2007
Sir John Franklin High School underwent an exterior retrofit, upgrade and window replacement in 2007. The existing wall assembly was removed and replaced with a more efficient “out-sulation” assembly. This tripled the R-value of the existing assembly, and has since cut down on maintenance and heating costs. This project came in $300,000 under budget.
In a subsequent phase of the renovation, Guy Architects was responsible for the design and installation of new wood paneling in the gymnasium. Not only is this paneling beautiful and durable, but it was installed within one week, when the students were on March break.
